RECOMMENDED SHOW (Venue Magazine) 'Another great find from St George's excellent Migrations 2009 series – Titi Robin is a French guitarist and oud player with a lifetime interest in Arabic, Indian and Gypsy music who has brought together a talented, multi-ethnic group of musicians and dancers to realise his satisfying musical blend of all those influences. Live performances are highly rated as exciting and engrossing experiences, particularly for the awesome dancing of Maria Robin.'Gypsy and flamenco rhythms meet maghreb song and dance. CHARLIE GILLETT, BBC Lots of musicians play at mixing musical cultures; guitarist and oud-player Thierry 'Titi' Robin has walked the walk for 30 years. Born in western France, where he took inspiration from the marginalised Arab and Gypsy communities, Robin learned to blend the traditions of Europe, North Africa and India into a unique personal style. Tonight, he presents his most acclaimed group yet, with Francis Varis on accordion, and Alex Tran on percussion, plus the astonishing dancer and singer Maria Robin. It's going to be extraordinary. "I used to dream of a world in which composers, performers and producers could make music without being constrained by the bottlenecks of genre and market forces. French guitarist Titi Robin has made that fantasy true." JOHN L WALTERS, THE GUARDIAN To hear music from Thierry 'Titi' Robin click Audio Clip below.
