Celestine
If her perfectly poised singing and compelling stage presence give vocalist Celestine genuine star quality, it’s the music she makes that you’ll remember, a carefully crafted infusion of mellow jazz and funksome soul, gospel and blues that fits her classic, hauntingly beautiful voice to a very modern R’n'B style.
‘Celestine is a slinky shimmering vision in high-cut dress of Dairy Milk purple with a smoothness of voice to match.’ Venue Magazine
Danielle Celeste
Elliott Hall
With wholly earnest and breathtakingly inspiring songs weaving folk, poetry and rock ‘n’ roll, Elliott Hall reignites a spark for credible new songwriters, his rough, gruff and tumble voice pulling away at his raw, edgy lyrics.
‘Remember the very first time you heard Tom Waits and you thought: “No way”? It’s like that with Elliot Hall of Bristol. All is shot through with a rare honesty – never does the subject matter or lyrics feel phony. Hall is what Ray LaMontagne pretends to be. He is heroic and compelling.’ Venue Magazine

Gavin Thorpe
Jacanda
Chris Pritchett vocals, guitar
Ed Bodey percussion
Kev Hawthorn piano
James Phillips saxophone, vocals
Nick Pritchett bass, guitar, vocals
Timeless folk tinged acoustic pop songs of quiet moods and rhythmic, spare arrangements, spiked with warmth and heart and immaculately played, each song overflowing with pure class, pure musicianship and pure emotions.
‘Piano, percussion and excellent acoustic guitar playing enlivened by superb saxophone, cello, mandolin and bass. Very catchy folk-pop [and] lush melodic songs.’ Venue Magazine
Jane Taylor
Jane Taylor is no ordinary singer-songwriter, rather a determinedly independent artist with an intangible show-stealing magic in her voice and an exceptional song-writing wanderlust that flits from delicate Tori Amos-style balladry to sharp Joni Mitchell boho-jazz-folk, mixed with a shot of Damien Rice and The Sundays. Having received a flurry of euphoric reviews for her albums, opened for Jools Holland, Paolo Nutini and Seth Lakeman and found incredible support from BBC Radio 2′s Johnnie Walker and Bob Harris, Jane brings her razor sharp, quintessentially English lyrical bite and transfixing voice to one hell of a show.
‘Jane Taylor pens songs like a proper old school artist. They’re not just tunes, they’re classics. Sometimes sassy, sometimes delicate but always a story and a melody you can connect with, hook yourself onto and ride through every twist and turn. And then there’s her voice, which steals the show completely. Warming the cockles and putting a smile on your face. Exceptional stuff.’ Time Out
‘Jane Taylor has something special … This really is a great smokey blues voice, and songs to match.’ 17 Seconds
Lady Nade
Nadine Gingell vocals, guitar
Adam Newton double and electric bass
Simon Le Fort keyboard
Sophie Stockham saxophone
Matt Brown drums, guitar
Emblematic of the Bristol music scene at its best: Lady Nade is a distinctively individual performer, a new Queen of jazz, funk and soul with an incomparable voice, her regal presence, hauntingly effortless, utterly beautiful whisper and smoky, sultry songs holding all in rapture.
‘Blue in tone, jazz in flavour, Lady Nade’s a singular voice: a commanding alto haunted beyond its years, oak deep and rounded, the kind you’d expect to hear spun from a thick cut of shellac at 78rpm.’ Venue Magazine
‘Gorgeous, spine-tingling … a unique voice.’ Bristol Evening Post
The Mowat Farnon Quintet
Alison Farnon vocals
David Mowat trumpet
Phil Blandford piano
Dave Griffiths bass
Mark Anderson drums
Music for grown-ups, the Mowat Farnon Quintet’s gloriously sultry, laid-back jazz weaves Alison Farnon’s warm, sublimely rich and cultured vocals and David Mowat’s crystal clear trumpet playing with disarmingly simple but thought provoking lyrics. Perfect listening.
‘David has a clear, deliberate style, reminiscent of Chet Baker, and Alison is a warm, intelligent singer. Very pleasant listening.’ Jazz UK
