Consortium5 Recorder Quintet
Noyses, Sounds and Sweet Ayres

Hey, what’s that sound? The recorder!?

From the baroque era to Blackadder, this little wind instrument has been played by (nearly) everyone.

Travelling from the time of King Henry Vlll to the present day, the award-winning Consortium5 explores the weird and wonderful world of the recorder consort with the help of a staggering array of recorders of all shapes and sizes, including the sub-bass which stands over six feet tall.

‘Ostensibly humble instruments transported to a vibrant sound world … a distinctive and beautifully fresh sound.’
