The Dodge Brothers / The Carrivick Sisters

Skiffle, country-blues and rockabilly a-go-go from film critic and slap-bassist Mark Kermode’s cult co-op band, with Alabama-bred Mike Hammond on guitar, banjo and vocals, Ali Kirji on rhythm guitar, mandolin and vocals, and Alex Hammond on washboard and percussion, with Mark singing and playing harmonica as well as double-bass. They’ve shared stages with Wanda Jackson and Noah and the Whale, rocked the joint on ‘The Culture Show’, and entranced festival-goers from the Larmer Tree to the Mojave Desert. Tonight they are joined by the fabulous bluegrass-pickin’ and fiddlin’ twins from Devon, the Carrivicks, who open the show.

“Wonderful stuff.” Bob Harris BBC Radio 2 on the Dodge Brothers
