Migrations
Migrations

'One of the most ambitious, important and entertaining cultural programmes Bristol has ever produced.' VENUE MAGAZINE

For our third season of Migrations, there's no big concept or overarching theme, just outstanding performers from a variety of backgrounds, all chosen to appeal to a clued-up audience ready to appreciate the very best in world music. An opening three day September mini-fest takes us from the raucous klezmer mix-up of Oi Va Voi, to Natacha Atlas's Arabic love songs, to Odemba OK Jazz's epoch-defining Congolese rumba. After that, there's pan-Mediterranean music from the legendary guitarist and oud player Titi Robin; a quartet of African acts including the return of the great Bassekou Kouyate and Ngoni Ba; radical tango from Buenos Aires, and a Christmas knees-up, African-style. After that, because Migrations has been such a blast, we're going to present Migrations 2010.
