Oliver Stone, one of the most unique and controversial film-makers in Hollywood history, shares his life and work in this special event.

He has made several documentaries and TV miniseries, including Oliver Stone’s Untold History of the United States. His latest documentary is JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass, which was shown at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.

His memoir – Chasing The Light: How I Fought My Way Into Hollywood – is one of the finest books written about the film industry. Intimate and ground-breaking, with disarming honesty Stone takes us on a journey from his childhood on New York’s Upper East Side, through the combat zones of Vietnam, to the 70s and 80s upheaval in Hollywood.

From Midnight Express through Scarface, and Salvador, Stone discovers his own dogged determination, a marked rebellious streak and a drive to make controversial films that are on the edge and that matter.

He is in conversation with Andrew Kelly, Director, Bristol Ideas.
