Elizabeth Blackwell Annual Public Lecture

The Elizabeth Blackwell Institute welcomes Chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners Professor Helen Stokes-Lampard and theatre maker Viv Gordon to share the stage for the Institute’s fourth Annual Public Lecture GPs on the Brink. Join us to unveil and unpick the realities of life as a GP in the current NHS, and the implications for GPs’ mental wellbeing. Helen Stokes-Lampard will draw upon her extensive experience as a medical academic and GP in a unique lecture while Viv Gordon will share readings from her new theatre work Prescribed (a Life Written for Me)Prescribed (touring at Edinburgh Fringe, 2017) tells a witty and emotive story drawing on Ruth Riley’s (Lecturer, University of Birmingham, previously University of Bristol) research into improving support for the estimated 13,000 UK GPs living with mental ill health.’
