From Mozart to Khachaturian via Liszt

On the brink of a brilliant international career, award winning concert pianist Iyad Sughayer plays works from his debut album on BIS Records of the solo works by Aram Khachaturian. The Jordanian-Palestinian pianist studied at Chetham’s School of Music, the Royal Northern College of Music and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Recent highlights include winning the Trinity Laban Gold Medal, his BBC Philharmonic Orchestra concerto debut and being selected as a City Music Foundation Artist 2019. Iyad has performed across the UK, Middle East, Europe and the United States.

In a recent article in International Piano Magazine, Iyad talks of the, “singing quality”, when explaining his love of Khachaturian, whose Armenian flavour instantly struck “a deep emotional chord” when he was a young pianist in Jordan. This recital promises to be a rare opportunity to be guided through the works of this composer and will also include works by Mozart and Liszt.
