Witness intricate songwriting and unconventional sounds come to life as composer and pianist, Larkhall performs tracks from his album ‘The Sea Was Never Blue’.

The self-produced album of solo piano music pairs each track with a short film in which each note corresponds to a series of mesmerising movements and images on-screen.

To create these visualisations, Larkhall recorded digital data from his home studio’s piano along with the audio, allowing him to create algorithms that transform the musical data into shapes and colours.

After a year of development, Larkhall unveiled his work on this multimedia project last month. This is only the second time that his own algorithms have been used as part of a live performance – a truly enthralling experience for audiences of all ages.

“Entrancing” (Jim DeRogatis) neoclassical composer/pianist Larkhall brings classical virtuosity to his “vividly beautiful work” (Hämeenkyrön Sanomat).
