Tafelmusik: translating as ‘music for feasting’, it is a name that, through the revered Toronto-based period performance orchestra, has been synonymous worldwide with dynamic, engaging and soulful performances. Tafelmusik are one of the world’s most widely travelled specialist baroque/classical orchestras, having performed in 350 cities in over 30 countries. As part of an extensive European tour, they make their St George’s Bristol debut with this fiery, passionateprogramme of Handel and Vivaldi, featuring Italian director/violinist Elisa Citterio and Canadian soprano Karin Gauvin.
