We are thrilled to announce that St George’s Bristol has been selected as a finalist in the ‘Leisure and Tourism Business of the Year’ category of this year’s Bristol Post Business Awards!
To gain this nomination St George’s demonstrated outstanding performance in many areas. These included commercial success and evidence of growth, adding value to Bristol and the surrounding areas, creating employment opportunities and staff development, and evidence of customer satisfaction with the service/facilities on offer.
St George’s faces stiff competition from Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust, and Everyone Active leisure centres, who have also been nominated for the award. The winner will be announced at an award ceremony on 29 June at Ashton Gate Stadium.
As a charity and independent music venue, St George’s Bristol subsidises income from ticket sales with fundraising, and private hire events. Over the last year there has been a focus on being commercially minded; increasing not only the number but also the kinds of events which St George’s Bristol hosts.
“We are absolutely delighted to have been nominated for this award. Alongside all of the fundraising that we’re doing for Building a Sound Future, the team have worked so hard to make St George’s Bristol as commercially successful as possible. Seeing that effort translate in to fantastic sales figures has been its own reward, but being recognised in this way by Bristol Post really is the cherry on top!”
