St George’s Café Bar Introduces Evening Pre-Concert Menu
Visitors to St George’s Bristol can now enjoy a delicious new evening food menu served in the beautiful Café Bar in the pavilion-style extension. It’s the perfect place to grab a bite to eat before listening to world class music or inspiring talks in the historic concert hall.
The menu, features freshly cooked seasonal main dishes such as braised and roasted pork belly, cured in ginger, garlic and chilli; Sri Lankan spiced puy lentils with sweet potato falafel, houmous and a pine dressing and roasted beetroot and celeriac tortilla, pickled beetroot and fresh leaves. A freshly made seasonal soup with sourdough costs £5.50 and main courses cost around £9.
French-born Head Chef Oakan Brousse has developed the new menu with a creative and seasonal approach, using locally sourced produce wherever possible and herbs and flowers from the St George’s gardens. Oakan originally trained as a pastry chef, and honed his skills at the acclaimed two AA-rosette Berwick Lodge, as well as other rosette holders such as The Lamb Inn in Burford and The Swan in Norfolk, and luxury clubs and event catering in London.

Friday 28 February 8pm O’Hooley and Tidow – folk duo famed for writing the theme tune of BBC’s ‘Gentleman Jack’
Tuesday 24 March 7pm Aurora Orchestra – part of the Beethoven 250 series, performing the symphony ‘Pastoral’ from memory
Wednesday 25 March 8pm Moishe’s Bagel – folk favourites performing a live score for documentary ‘Salt for Svanetia’
Located just off Park Street, the Café Bar was opened as part of a £6.3million extension in 2018. The café is open from 8.30pm to 6pm serving Triple Co coffee and cakes and a delicious brunches and lunches. The new menu is available prior to evening concerts from 6pm to half an hour before auditorium concerts with no need to book.
