Mozart Requiem

This event has passed.

Part of Clifton International Festival of Music and it taking place at Clifton Cathedral

Join Artistic Director, Tom Williams, the Festival Chamber Choir and Orchestra and a star-studded line up of soloists for this year’s explosive finale.

Mozart was coming to the end of his short life when he composed these two extraordinarily contrasting works: the Clarinet concerto and Requiem. The concerto belies the composer’s physical discomforts, with its joyful and uplifting melodies that show off the tremendous expressive potential of the clarinet.

The Requiem, conversely, plunges the depths of human despair with the anguished cries of the Dies Irae, and sorrowful lilting melodies of the Kyrie and Lacrimosa. With Mozart’s most famous works front and centre, this concert promises to be a finale to remember!
