From the Industrial Revolution to Rock Against Racism, CND and the Miner’s Strike, songs of protest are as old as the history of protest itself. For this unique collaboration some of the UK’s leading folk singers and songwriters – Nancy Kerr, Hannah Martin, Greg Russell, Findlay Napier and Tim Yates – delve into the rich archive of protest songs to create their own personal responses, while special guest Steve Knightley adds a local context by drawing from the vital heritage of Bristol and the West Country.
