Bristol Americana Weekend is back! 15-17 July 2016

Following on from last year’s fantastic long weekend of Americana (which featured the likes of Emmylou Harris, Mud Morganfield and The Shires), we are delighted to be teaming up with Colston Hall once again for ‘Bristol Americana Weekend 2016’. It’s another sizzling selection of international artists, representing some of the very best in Americana and Bluegrass music.

We play host to an unmissable double-bill on Friday 15 July, headlined by The HillBenders, who put on their acclaimed bluegrass take on The Who’s rock opera TOMMY. They’re joined by Dom Flemons, who you may have seen here with Carolina Chocolate Drops. It promises to be a great night!

Topping the bill at Colston Hall, Elvis Costello & The Imposters (Sun 17 Jul) will be romping through the famed singer-songwriter’s eclectic songbook, while the preceding nights see the legendary Mary Chapin Carpenter (Sat 16 Jul) and Lucinda Williams (Fri 15 Jul) – artists who have notched up eight Grammy Awards between them and who are undoubted icons of American music.

In the Lantern, some of the new(er) school – Frazey Ford and Howe Gelb (of Giant Sand) (Sat 16 Jul) bring their unique spins on country-soul and Southern rock respectively, while The White Buffalo (Sun 17 Jul) demonstrates why popular American TV shows like Sons of Anarchy have turned to him time and again to provide the soundtrack
