Olivier Messiaen Catalogue d’oiseaux
Erland Cooper World Premiere

The Manchester Collective are a new, breathtakingly original ensemble / creative team breaking down barriers and boundaries in classical music by creating some of the most exciting, intimate, intense musical experiences you’re ever likely to have. It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned concert-goer or it’s your first time – all are welcome.

For the first of a series of visits to St George’s they are bringing a stunning sound and visual installation for solo piano, a love song in music to the beauty and diversity of birds. At the heart of this immersive performance is Messiaen’s Catalogue of Birds, set against brand new music by electronic wunderkind Erland Cooper.
