Cosmos Children’s Community Choir

St George’s Learning & Participation Programme funds and manages the Cosmos Children’s Community Choir of South Bristol, an initiative we began back in 2009.

Since then, over 200 young people aged 8 – 11 from a range of schools in the area have benefitted from the ‘Cosmos experience’, growing in confidence and singing ability through weekly rehearsals led by the choir’s inspirational music leadership team.

Would your child like to join the choir?

For further information, including details on how to enrol your child in Cosmos Choir (no fees, it’s all on us!), please contact the choir coordinator Caitlin Callahan at

Performance opportunities have included regular appearances at St George’s, concerts in the Colston Hall foyer, at the Harbourside, at Clifton College and, closer to home, at Merchants’ Academy and in local primary schools. Cosmos is also a regular recording choir for Faber Music and the Sing Up SongBank.

Cosmos has previously featured on BBC Points West, singing a Christmas favourite. You can see and hear the talent of our singers below in this video provided by the BBC archive:

Your Feedback…

“I wanted to say congratulations on the concert really enjoyed it. And also thanks to Caitlin and Mark for the last year leading Cosmos. It’s such a great project, my son and daughter have got so much out of it. My son in particular has increased his confidence as a result of going and takes pride in singing. All the best for the summer break. Best wishes.”
