10 stars. Utterly thrilling evening. The precision and energy of the whole orchestra under the delightful direction of “Jonathon Hayward was fabulous. Sheku Kanneh-Mason’s performance was riveting and profoundly touching from the first note to the last. Such a great choice for St George’s on St George’s day – the best of what England has to offer!” starstarstarstarstar

“Totally awesome from beginning to end! Truly talented and they looked like they were enjoying themselves. Sheku Kanneh-Mason brought tears to my eyes. A very special evening.” starstarstarstarstar

“Such a treat. Felt intimate & close, really part of the act. Simply wonderful.” starstarstarstarstar

“Really vibrant and warm show. Great to have the chance to experience a live performance from such an emerging talent backed by an enthusiastic new orchestra.” starstarstarstarstar

“An absolutely fabulous evening. What a joy! Unforgettable.” starstarstarstarstar

“The youth of the performers gave the music a vitality which was most enjoyable and infectious, the conductor had a wonderful style and you could almost feel him drawing the energy out of the musicians. We thoroughly enjoyed the concert.” starstarstarstarstar

“I was excited to see Sheku Kanneh-Mason performing. There was a definite buzz of anticipation in the audience. The sound of the orchestra was refreshing and the performance by Sheku Kanneh-Masson exhilarating. It was lovely to see him chatting to and joining his friends in the audience afterwards.”

“It was an excellent concert. I loved the fact that the orchestra seemed to be enjoying itself. The audience was enthusiastic, younger and more diverse than I had ever seen at a classical concert. Sheku Kanneh – Mason was simply superb.” starstarstarstarstar

“Super! Relaxed but structured, and my nearly 3 year old and 4 year old were captivated.” starstarstarstarstar

“Fantastic! This was a super opportunity for young ones to find out about the brass family. Our 6 year old son loved every minute of it.” starstarstarstarstar

“Mini Beats Brilliant Brass was nothing short of fantastic!!! My son and his friends loved every minute of it and came out bouncing up and down shouting ‘that was AWESOME’!!! It has also inspired us to encourage our son to take up an instrument ! We would love to come to more of these and we thought it was especially great that there was a good mix of families with children who have special educational needs and families who don’t all enjoying it together. Hurrah!” starstarstarstarstar

“The whole family really enjoyed the Minibeats concert. A lovely combination of “real” music of child friendly lengths, interspersed with Laura’s upbeat and informative narration. The choices of repertoire were very appropriate for the age group and opportunities to join in and interact were great. The children learned a lot and we all had fun.” starstarstarstarstar

“Another Fantastic Mini Beats with the brilliant Laura Tanner. Our children 5 & 7, thought Brilliant Brass was the best one they have attended.” starstarstarstarstar

“Excellent and empathetic presenter, exemplary vocalists and pianist, a thoroughly wonderful experience to see all the little ones engaged and enjoying the music and singing. Music was shown to be FUN for the adults also! I do so hope you continue the series further than the brass one in April. Many thanks to all concerned.” starstarstarstarstar

“This really is not the sort of show that I would consider, my ‘live’ musical taste is very much in the ‘Rock’ arena but my daughter’s choir was performing so came along to support her. I have to say that the performance was a real eye-opener and both my wife and I enjoyed it very much. It was extremely well balanced in terms of telling the fascinating story of Beethoven’s life through story telling, music and song. A lovely humour also ran through the play making it enjoyable and easy to sit back and get engrossed. The talent of all musicians involved was obvious from the first perfect note until the last and not a rock sound among them!! Great to have the children’s choir as the grand finale’ which really humanised the show and clearly demonstrates the importance of music as a form of communication whatever your age. well done to all involved and yes I would recommend this show and a great venue to others.” starstarstarstarstar

“Both my son and I really enjoyed the show.” starstarstarstarstar

“Truly fabulous, for all ages.” starstarstarstarstar

“Loved being able to touch the instruments at the end! Great performance and pre-performance. Thanks.”

“Thank you so much for arranging the performances in schools today. Both schools were highly complimentary of the event and the musicians, and both commented your excellent leading of the sessions.

The head of music at Knowle Park was very impressed by the way you differentiated the assemblies for the different key stages, and we received this response from Waycroft ….

‘……. the musicians were brilliant. Could you pass on our thanks again to them. All the teachers I spoke to were highly complimentary. They had just the right tone with the children – especially Laura who held it all together beautifully. The children really enjoyed it and were chatting enthusiastically about it afterwards. So thanks again for giving us the chance to host the concert. Really loved it!’

Please pass on our appreciation to your colleagues too.”

“A wonderful experience. Just serious enough to make us all concentrate and stay in tune, but the director made it a great deal of fun too.” starstarstarstarstar

“Fantastic. Very uplifting. I bought tickets for my parents and aunt and watched the show. Their faces lit up the room for me. I’m sure they will be annual groupies now! We all will! Thank you.” starstarstarstarstar

“Really enjoyed the choice of songs excellent afternoons therapy.”

“It was fascinating to see the Really Classical musicians work so effectively with the orchestra during the afternoon’s workshop, to see the very evident enthusiasm engendered, and to hear the substantial change in the orchestral sound by the time of the evening’s concert. Haydn’s London Symphony was then performed with great expression and musicality and was hugely enjoyable. The skill of the professional musicians, who performed small chamber adaptations of the 2nd and 3rd movements by themselves seemed to ‘wash off’ on the students. Giving Bristol’s young musicians the opportunity to play together with professionals in this way is an excellent idea. The first half of the evening’s concert was devoted to giving a very talented 12 year old violinist and 13 year old cellist who had been to the morning’s workshops the opportunity to perform chamber music with the Really Classical professionals. There was some lovely music making here.” starstarstarstar
