Natalie-Ban

Natalie Clein at St George’s Bristol

Natalie Clein is just eight weeks away from having her second child and this is affecting her performance abilities earlier than she had anticipated.  As such she has chosen to amend the programme for her recital on Friday 30 October (7pm) and will now perform Cello Suites 1, 2 and 3 instead of Suites 3, 5 and 4 (as previously publicised).  More importantly, Natalie has reluctantly decided to cancel all further appearances after her concert here at St George’s Bristol on Friday, so she will no longer be performing on Friday 13 November.

As you can imagine, finding a replacement cellist at such short notice hasn’t been an easy task, particularly as we wanted to seek out someone who could live up to the high expectations of our audiences. However, we are delighted that the marvellous Philip Higham will now perform Suites 4, 5 and 6 on Friday 13 November in Natalie’s place.

Described by The Strad as “..undoubtedly one of the most impressive young British cellists (we) have heard in a decade…”, we’re sure he won’t disappoint; particularly with the extremely positive response to his recent recording of the complete Bach Cello Suites.

We look forward to welcoming Natalie on Friday for what will be her final performance before taking a break and we’re sure you join us in wishing her all the very best.

“…this is a reading of supple radiance and sustained energy.”
