Paul Kenyon announced as new Chair of St George's

St George’s Bristol is delighted to announce Paul Kenyon as its new Chair, as of July 2025.

A long-standing Bristol resident, Paul’s professional background lies in finance and strategic planning for a dynamic range of sectors, having held senior finance roles with companies including Mars, Incorporated, Allied Domecq plc, and AstraZeneca plc, culminating in CFO roles at Nomad Foods, C&J Clark, and most recently IVC Evidensia until his retirement in 2023. A Governor of his alma mater Nottingham Trent University, Paul is passionate about arts education and access to live performance.

A trustee of St George’s since 2023, Paul has served as both Deputy Chair and Interim Chair on the St George’s Board prior to his appointment as Chair. In his free time, Paul is a keen singer and trumpet player, performing across a wide range of genres with a variety of ensembles, where he’s led on creating accessibly priced ticketing schemes and audience development initiatives. Paul’s interests are closely aligned with the aims of St George’s Learning & Participation programme, and St George’s ticketing provision for those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to experience live music – including St George’s Community Ticket Club, and its new discounted ticket scheme for 18-25s, due to launch in autumn 2025.

Samir Savant, Chief Executive of St George’s Bristol, said,

“I’m excited to announce Paul Kenyon’s appointment as our new Chair. Paul brings wide-ranging experience and insight to the role, and has already ably led our dynamic, forward-looking Board during his time as Interim Chair. I’m looking forward to working further with Paul, who’s committed to the accessibility of live performance and music-making – both here at St George’s, and in the wider Bristol community.”

Paul Kenyon, new Chair of St George’s Bristol said,

“St George’s Bristol is a unique and inspiring venue, and I love the fact there’s such a wide range of events and genres that everyone can come and experience here. We’re passionately committed to welcoming audiences from across our region; I look forward to supporting the organisation, its board and staff team, in developing St George’s reach and forging new connections within Bristol and its surrounding area.”

This change in Board leadership comes as St George’s Bristol launches its 2025 Autumn season, featuring artists and speakers including Braimah Kanneh-Mason, Angela Hewitt, David Olusoga, and Hollie McNish. The season also includes a special, never-to-be-repeated programme called Listen In, co-created with Dame Evelyn Glennie and the Bristol Ensemble, to be performed as part of a fundraising evening in support of St George’s Bristol. Autumn 2025 also sees the continuation of St George’s involvement in groundbreaking research projects on how audiences and musicians experience of live music, partnering with local academics from UWE Bristol and the MyWorld Project.
