EVENTS MANAGER

The role of the Events Manager is to ensure the effective organisation, management and professional delivery of all cultural events at the venue, maximise income generating opportunities through cultural activity venue hire, and work with the Operations Officer to ensure the venue is maintained to the appropriate standard for live events. They support and develop relationships with artists and groups that work with us to ensure events are consistently delivered to the highest standard.  The Events Manager also manages and co-ordinates a team of volunteer stewards and casual events staff that support the venue’s events programme.

Salary                           £20,000 – £22,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours                            09.00 – 17.30  (With an unpaid hour for lunch) Monday to Friday

Reporting to                Operations Director

Events Team Staff

The Duty Event Managers, alongside the Events Team are the face of St George’s and we are keen for that face to better match the great variety of the community it serves. We are now a fully-accessible venue and welcome all applications from any background, particularly BAME groups who have an interest in any sort of music, ideas and events.

DUTY EVENTS MANAGER

The Duty Event Managers are responsible for the smooth running of the events on the day, as directed by the Cultural or Commercial Events Manager which can range from concerts, talks, weddings, film festivals, education workshops, conferences and recordings.

As the Duty Event Manager, your main priority must be the comfort and safety of audience members, performers and clients at all times. You will be the main point of contact for any artist, client or contractor, and also lead the Front of House teams, including the Box Office and Café Bar Supervisors, and the Events Team who will assist you in delivering the event.

EVENTS TEAM

The Events Team oversee the smooth running of the events on the day, as directed by the Duty Event Manager for St George’s events which can range from concerts, talks, film festivals, education workshops, and recordings.

The Events Team are divided across three roles:

  • Front of House Managers
  • House Managers
  • Duty Event Assistants

We train all our Events Team staff so that they can switch between all three roles, keeping the job interesting and engaging with the wide variety of events we host.
