Booking & Postage Fees

We charge a 9% booking fee to the sale of each ticket online and over the phone. For example, that’s £1.20 on a £15 ticket and £1.60 on a £20 ticket.

This contributes to covering the costs of our booking systems and customer services, and helps us to bring memorable experiences to a wider range of people.

In the event of a ticket refund being offered, the booking fee is non-refundable.

A booking fee is not payable on tickets booked in person at St George’s Box Office.

If you would like your tickets posted to you there is an additional £2 administration and postal charge per transaction no matter how many tickets you order. This is to cover postage and stationery.

There is no charge for collecting tickets from the Box Office in advance. Alternatively, select print-at-home tickets, also available to show on your smart phone.

Your Safety & Security

Clearly this is of utmost importance for all our audiences, visitors, artists, staff and volunteers. Everyone can support us by being the eyes and ears of this public open building, so please report anything you think is suspicious to one of our team. We have CCTV in operation and we reserve the right to conduct searches of bags, clothing and other items and confiscate anything which may cause danger or disruption.

Currently, we are asking everyone who visits St George’s to observe some Covid-safety measures. This is for the benefit of our artists, staff, volunteers and members of the public who feel more confident in public spaces where some Covid-safety measures continue to be in place. You can find out more here.

Seating

Our hall has a capacity is 562 seats split between stalls and side stalls downstairs, and central and side galleries upstairs. As an old listed building, we have some seats with hampered visibility. The main flat floor area does have some pillars which you can easily see by opening the seating plan below, but if you have any questions about this, do call us on 0845 40 24 001.

We are currently offering a reduced capacity seating plan to maintain social distancing and Covid-safe capacities within the hall and other performance spaces. Please view the seating plan for an individual event when booking online. During Autumn/Winter 2021 we plan to return to full capacity events.

You can check the view from anywhere in the hall (including from the stage itself) using our 360 degree ‘streetview’ photos. These images are accurate as at 2016 and some adjustments may be made, eg. they include our stage extension which is not used for all performances.

Photography and Video/Audio Recording

We have a beautiful, photogenic venue, and we love it when you share pictures of our building and gardens on your social networks. But during a performance you cannot use personal cameras, audio and video equipment (including mobile phones and tablets). It can be very off-putting for performers and others in the audience so it is not permitted unless we state otherwise and agree in advance with our artists.

When you purchase a ticket, you’re also giving your consent to St George’s Bristol or one of our agents producing film, photography and/or sound recordings which may include you as a member of the audience. These may be used without payment or copyright. We’ll always display signs to state if this is happening so if you have any queries or concerns, please tell one of the St George’s team on arrival. Schools and other youth or educational groups visiting St George’s for public performances also consent to being photographed or filmed as members of the audience. It is the group organiser’s responsibility to obtain any appropriate consents (eg. from parents/guardians) in advance.

If you do want to use us as an atmospheric backdrop, we’re hard to beat. You might have seen St George’s in some location filming for dramas, fashion shoots and music videos. Find out more about how to access our spaces for commercial film and photography – our friendly Venue Hire team will be more than happy to discuss your requirements. You can reach the team here or by emailing hello@stgeorgesbristol.org.uk

Cloakroom

Bags any larger than a medium-sized rucksack are not permitted in the hall. Unfortunately we are currently unable to offer cloakroom facilities at our venue.
