Becoming a Volunteer

St George’s Bristol is delighted to be looking for more volunteer stewards to help deliver our extended programme of concerts and events.

The volunteering team are the face of St George’s and we are keen for that face to better match the great variety of the community it serves. We are now a fully accessible venue and welcome all applications from anyone aged from eighteen years to eighty four who have an interest in any sort of music and might enjoy being introduced to even more, or perhaps even some performance poetry or stand-up comedy.

Your duties will include welcoming and guiding the audience to their seats and being responsible for the evacuation of the audience through emergency exits if required. You may also be involved if you wish in the tearing of tickets and selling of merchandise too. Your main job is being our friendly, helpful ambassador to the public and the local community, and ensuring the smooth running of events for the enjoyment of the audience and the volunteers!

No previous experience is necessary, all training is provided and shifts are arranged by mutual agreement and at times that suit whatever your particular schedule will allow. Access to and by email at least once a week is our only requirement. These positions are completely unpaid but we hope that you will find the eclectic range of concerts, performances and events enriching in themselves.

It’s a perfect opportunity for those who want to take their first step back into employment, or for absolute beginners who haven’t yet entered the job world.

All of our Volunteers must be over 18. If you wish to apply to join our volunteer team please complete the below registration form and send to volunteers@stgeorgesbristol.co.uk
