Gurt Lush

Known for their ambitious repertoires and fearless performances, Gurt Lush have grown to be one of the largest and most remarkable open-access choirs in the country.

The choir love champion new works, particularly by local composers, gaining them a reputation for sourcing extreme and exciting a cappella world music. They regularly enjoy street busking, carol singing and charity performances of all kinds and even once sang in the dark in the Staple Hill Tunnel for an Australian project known as Galaxy of Suns.

People of Note

People of Note is one of Bristol’s longest standing community choirs. The choir was set up in 2000 by Nickomo Clarke and Nick Petts, and run by Nickomo and Rasullah from 2009-2020.

After several years without a leader, in early 2022 the choir appointed wonderful new leader, Rosie Sleightholme. Rosie is a Natural Voice choir leader and is really excited to take the choir forward and to welcome new members to the group.

All songs are taught by ear and there is no need to read music. They sing songs from all over the world, and Rosie’s main aim is to bring people together to experience the joy of singing in harmony.

Island Folk

The Island Folk Choir are a community of singers who are drawn together by a love of folk songs and harmony singing. They sing songs from the British Isles and beyond.
