Conductor William Conway
Sweeney Glisk
Mahler Songs of a Wayfarer
Brahms Symphony No 4
Aileen Sweeney’s music has been described as “Exquisitely scored. Poignant, thoughtful and bracingly fresh”. Her atmospheric work – Glisk (an old Scots word meaning a fleeting glint or flicker) – sets the scene for Mahler’s exploration of personal grief and longing. Brahms’s powerful 4th Symphony concludes this concert conducted by William Conway.
