Bristol Concert Orchestra with You-Chiung Lin

Bristol Concert Orchestra
You-Chiung Lin Piano
Stefan Hofkes Conductor

This concert sees the long-awaited return of the Bristol Concert Orchestra to St. Georges, conducted by Stefan Hofkes and for this very special occasion the programme comprises three of the most beloved masterworks of the classical repertoire.

A year later than planned, the orchestra celebrates Beethoven with his Piano Concerto No 1 after a rousing start with Mozart’s Overture from Il Seraglio. Celebrated pianist and long-standing musical friend of St. Georges, You-Chiung Lin will be the soloist, promising an exciting performance. Mahler’s 4th Symphony is one of his most highly regarded – more restrained in its extreme emotions, but full of affecting melodic writing and lyrical warmth, it has been described as one of the most consoling pieces for the human soul, especially with the touching last movement in which a young child sings of the happiness to be found in heaven.
