Ríoghnach Connolly & Honeyfeet + Kit Hawes & Aaron Catlow

Bristol Folk Festival

Part of Bristol Folk Festival

This event has passed.

Powerhouse vocals & prodigious talent bring the house down for the closing concert of Bristol Folk Festival 2026.

Ríoghnach Connolly & Honeyfeet move with ease between swampy jazz, raucous brass, fractured funk, blues balladry and gorgeous folkloric textures. At the heart of the band, BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year, Ríoghnach Connolly combines powerhouse vocals, flute flourishes and a razor-sharp wit that transforms gigs into carnivals.

‘A brilliant band’ Craig Charles BBC 6 Music

Honeyfeet deftly hold this mischievous mix together, with a groove and Jazz-like commitment to musical freedom. Bass (Lorien Garth Edwards), guitar (Ellis Davies ), keys (John Ellis), brass (Biff Roxby) and drums (Phill Howley) forming a fluid and fearless musical unit.

2025 saw headline slots at Manchester’s Albert Hall, Minack Theatre and a date with Annie Lennox at the Royal Albert Hall. Join Honeyfeet ahead of the May Bank Holiday for a celebratory night to remember.

One of the most exciting duos to emerge from the UK, Aaron Catlow (fiddle) and Kit Hawes (guitar) combine virtuosity and vocal harmony. ‘Dexterity, energy & passion…mightily impressive’ R2 Magazine

Known for their work with supergroups John Martyn Project and Sheelanagig, the pair shine when they take centre-stage. Using folk music of the British Isles as a catalyst, the dynamic duo bring to life songs old & new.

‘Reminiscent of Dave Swarbick and Martin Carthy. A duo at the top of their game’ Mark Radcliffe BBC Radio 2
