NEW DATE JUST ANNOUNCED – due to popular demand, we’re just announced another Carols by Candlelight concert on Thurs 14 Dec
The Fitzhardinge Consort, the South West’s premier vocal ensemble and firm St George’s favourites, make a welcome return in a concert of seasonal music from across the ages.
Come and enjoy the festive ambience and St George’s special acoustics with seasonal music from across the ages, from Gregorian chant to 21st century carols. The wide-ranging programme will include audience favourites, such as Silent Night, The Holly and the Ivy and Jingle Bells alongside lesser-known works by Morton Lauridsen, Elizabeth Poston and John Rutter. Each piece has been specially chosen to reveal the rich, and often surprising history of the Christmas carol.
