Following the success of Saxultate in February 2020 Exultate Singers is delighted to team up again with the internationally-renowned saxophonist Amy Dickson for a concert of vibrant and inventive pieces for saxophone and choir. Many commissioned by Exultate Singers, these rhythmical and virtuosic pieces feature exciting interplay between choir and saxophone, and are engaging and enthralling. In arrangements of folk songs from around the British Isles, the saxophone soars over the choir’s beautiful melodies and sumptuous harmonies.
Amy Dickson also performs solo pieces specially written in 2020 for her lockdown concerts from home. The well-known local percussionist Jeremy Little provides the rhythmical backing as well as demonstrating the mystical and captivating sound world of the marimba.
