A revealing cross section of Bach’s work, the Mass incorporates elements from compositions that span many years. It was developed and refined during the last years of his life to create a masterpiece of the Baroque era.
From the majestically solemn opening Kyrie to the celebratory blaze of trumpets that concludes the final Dona nobis pacem, the Mass in B Minor expresses the full range of human emotions from intense sadness to joyful zest for life. In a stellar line up of soloists, soprano Augusta Hebbert, alto Martha McLorinan and tenor Bradley Smith join bass Peter Harvey to sing the work’s poignantly beautiful arias and duets.
Exultate Singers has appeared on Classic FM, on BBC Radios 2, 3 and 4 and BBC television including The One Show and Songs of Praise, and is known for its consistently high quality, committed and engaging performances over nearly 20 years.
