City of Bristol Brass Band Learner Band has relaunched as City of Bristol Community Brass Band. The band is fortunate to have Ali Cupples as Musical Director – he joined at the time of the relaunch – September 2024 and was immediately involved in a set of music at a fund-raising concert for the music department of CST Trinity Academy in Bristol. City of Bristol Community Band was delighted to be able to support this.
The band comprises a mix of young people who are learning their skills and putting them into practice with a larger group, and adults who are returning to brass banding after a break, or who themselves have taken up a brass instrument later in life.
City of Bristol Brass Band will continue to make music at the highest level, offer musical education opportunities for local people of all ages, and continue to support our local community in Bristol and wider, as the band has done continuously since 1936.

Enjoy delicious drinks and light bites from our Café Bar ahead of the event.
Available to pre-order when booking your tickets, you can choose from a selection of house drinks on arrival, accompanied by a mezze board of bread, dips, olives, stuffed peppers, falafel, feta cheese and garden salad (all vegetarian). Just select which option – for one or two people – you would like, before checkout. Or if you’ve already booked, please email boxoffice@stgeorgesbristol.co.uk to add your food to your order.
Your pre-ordered food and drink will be available to collect from the Café Bar from 90 minutes before the event. It’s the perfect way to begin your event experience at St George’s!
