Rising Folk: Detta Kenzie

Part of Rising Stars

A 9% booking fee applies online and over the phone. A £2 postage fee is charged where applicable.

Singer-songwriter Detta Kenzie re-weaves ancient Celtic music and uses the natural landscape of her native Devon – places such as Teignmouth, Shaldon, Dawlish and Dartmoor – as inspiration for her beautiful songs.

Once an English teacher, Detta’s love of language and storytelling underpins her music through themes of womanhood, love, loss, insomnia, anxiety, rebellion and rage – she describes herself as a forager of stories, a wild woman and a lover of the land.

This is a Rising Folk session curated and presented by Ant Miles, who’ll be in conversation with Detta as part of the event.
