The Joe Marler Show

Part of Spring-Summer 2023 Big Names

This event has passed.

Meet Joe Marler, a sports icon and world-class international rugby star, who has played for England 83 times, but who now wants to explore the weirdest, most wonderful parts of our culture. For the very first time, Joe and co-hostTom Fordyce, who can think of nothing more enjoyable than going along with him, are taking their critically acclaimed podcast on tour.

Experience the podcast and Britain’s most interesting and fascinating people up close and personal, as Joe and Tom travel up and down the country with their funny, sometimes daft, touching and always honest live show.

Since starting the podcast in September 2020, and five million downloads later, Joe Marler has met surgeons, flight attendants, prison guards, tattoo artists, sex workers, pub landlords and somany more. He’s discovered that squirrels’ front teeth never stop growing, that the most commonly stolen item from hotel rooms are batteries from the TV remote control and that our ears don’t pop when you go into space. With many exciting guests on the tour – what will you, Joe and Tom discover during their time on the road?

The Joe Marler Show hangs out with the people you always wanted to hang out with. The most fascinating celebrities, for sure, but also people you’ve never heard of who you’ll now never be able to forget: prison governors, bomb disposal experts, Britain’s one-time most wanted man. This is a podcast that takes you on a tour that you’ll never forget. You’re never quite sure what’s coming and you’re never quite sure where these two will go, not least as Joe and Tom don’t know either. Because life is not what you think it is.

Meet & Greet – A limited number of add-on £50 tickets for a meet & greet with Joe are available during the booking process once you have selected your seats.

Joe has played international rugby union for England 83 times. He also toured with The British and Irish Lions in 2017 and has won two Premiership titles with his club Harlequins. He has four children, with the eldest just eight years old. His first book is called Loose Head: Confessions of An (un)Professional Rugby Player, and he’s also made a documentary for Sky Sports called Big Boys Don’tCry. His podcast has been downloaded five million times.

Joe is an ambassador for CALM. Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide through vital, life-saving support and collective action. Recent TV appearances include A League of Their Own, Question of SportSunday Brunch and Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel – which he was rather confused by.
