The Pioneers of Pride Kiki Ball

Part of Just Announced

This event has passed.

Bristol Ballroom Community invites you to the Pioneers of Pride Kiki Ball!

This summer we’re playing dress up and paying homage! Come through to our kiki celebrating the queer icons who paved the way and the trailblazing gays, girls and theys of the present day. Bear witness to this spectacular fusion of voguing (dance), fashion, performance, beauty and gender expression.

Members of the community will compete across an array of categories in front of a panel of esteemed judges in order to win the honour of a Grand Prize! Expect drama, gags and glamour galore!

If you are interested in walking (competing) at this function please contact @bristolballroomcommunity on instagram for more information about the categories, or get in touch if you just want to join the community!

Ballroom Culture originates from Harlem, New York in the 1920s, by the trailblazing drag queen Crystal Labeija. It has always been a pioneering space for LGBTQ+ POC. Bristol Ballroom Community started in 2019 to provide this safe space of expression for people here in Bristol and has been thriving ever since!
