The Thick of It: Politics, Power & Profanity
Presented by Slapstick Festival
This event has passed.
Step back into the chaotic corridors of Whitehall as creator Armando Iannucci reunites with key members of his award-winning ensemble for a celebration of one of television’s sharpest, funniest and most influential political comedies.
Two decades on, The Thick Of It still skewers spin culture, media distortion and moral freefall with unnerving accuracy.
This in-depth on-stage conversation revisits the show’s origins, the real-world absurdities that shaped its storylines, and the sheer comic craft behind Malcolm Tucker’s legendary tirades. Expect reflections, revelations and behind-the-scenes memories from Armando and original cast members Chris Addison and Rebecca Front.
