Bristol-based piano trio Yetii “play together in the telepathic fashion of the finest trios” (UK Jazz News). Their debut album Inner Worlds received widespread acclaim and demonstrated the melodic finesse and emotional subtlety they’ve come to be known for. The trio honed their craft through a 4-year residency in Easton, which included collaborations with Arun Ghosh, Ant Law and Laura Jurd, they supported The Bad Plus on their recent UK tour, and played a sold out lunch time show at St George’s in 2025.
About Inner Worlds, they say:
“It’s about what goes on beneath the surface. Each composition immerses the listener in a different experience or state of mind. Singing melodies open and shift to reveal their inner workings. Solos morph into group improvisations: a shared single voice that ebbs and flows between and within the band’s original compositions. The album is a distillation and documentation of the sound we have formed over time at our monthly residency in Bristol over the last 4 years.”
With special guest Laura Jurd
Laura is a British award-winning trumpet player, composer and bandleader. She leads the Mercury-nominated band Dinosaur who have performed at North Sea, Montreal and Molde International Jazz festivals. Laura is a BBC New Generation Artist and winner of a 2019 Ivor Composer Award, and recently released her 6th album Rite and Revelations to widespread critical acclaim.
“At the vanguard of this new generation – a Hampshire native who has been composing since she could walk.” Evening Standard
“Composer Jurd with her band of co-virtuosos have now pulled-off what might be considered a masterpiece.” All About Jazz
