Goldfinch Create and Play

This relaxed, hands-on session will invite families to get creative together as they make festive robin decorations to take home and hang on the tree, or give as a special handmade gift. Using paper-folding techniques, pastels and collage materials, participants will create one or a pair of cheerful robin decorations, with plenty of scope for individual interpretation and playful making.

The robin was chosen as the inspiration for this workshop because it is such a familiar and much-loved symbol of the festive season. The activity will encourage children and adults to explore shape, colour and simple construction techniques in an accessible and enjoyable way, while creating something beautiful and personal to keep.

As with all Goldfinch family art workshops, the session will be designed to feel welcoming, relaxed and inclusive, allowing time for children and adults to connect while making together. We will provide all necessary materials and guidance, with activities suitable across a wide age range, from toddlers to teens.

There will be a separate toddler area offering simpler, more tactile activities, including circle-pattern stamping, stencils and plasticine exploration.
