The Portrait Players

Part of Lunchtime Concerts

This event has passed.

The Portrait Players are a UK-based trio bringing 17th and 18th century music to modern audiences through their programmes inspired by historical characters.

Today, in a programme entitled The New Lyre, they focus on women composers of 17th century Italy, exploring their roles in music-making and society, in the home, the court and the church. They are outstanding musicians, rapidly making a name for themselves in the landscape of early music.
