Sterling has performed with major orchestras including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Last summer, he made his Aspen Festival debut, performing the Brahms Double Concerto with Gil Shaham.
