Award-winning saxophonist, broadcaster and presenter Jess Gillam has carefully crafted an exhilarating, diverse programme spanning 900 years of music. SHINE weaves together the dynamism of CPE Bach, the groove of Michael Nyman, the tenderness of Barbara Strozzi and the intimacy and familiarity of folk traditions. Applauded for her ‘breathtaking high-wire virtuosity’ (The Arts Desk) and her ‘unstuffy, inspiring personality’ (The Times), Jess welcomes the audience into a warm, friendly, uplifting evening of world-class music, introducing and telling stories about the music from the stage.

With her stellar 7-piece band (think string quartet meets jazz trio with a saxophone wedged in the middle!), Jess captures the energy and eclecticism of her musical upbringing along with some beautifully reflective moments. Keeping collaboration and connection at the heart of the show, she brings her charisma and magnetism to the stage, delivering a show that lifts the spirits and lights up the room.
