The Ultimate Mozart Requiem Experience

Join us for a memorable exploration of Mozart’s sublime masterpiece, led by popular local choir leader, Ben England. This will be your unique opportunity to join hundreds of other choral enthusiasts in the beautiful acoustic of St George’s to learn Mozart’s last major choral work with its intriguing history and magnificent choruses.

Throughout the rehearsal on the day and for the final performance, the choir will be supported by professional solo piano accompanist, John Talbot. For the final public performance, you will also be joined by four professional soloists – soprano, alto, tenor and bass.

Included in the price are digital resources enabling you to learn the piece beforehand, including a special companion pack with rehearsal notes and musical insights, an online rehearsal ahead of the date, lunch on the day (please see below), plus a complimentary hot drink and cake! The digital resources will be made available to all singers taking part ahead of the online rehearsal on 2 June.

The online rehearsal will take place at 7pm on Tuesday 2 June. 

Ben England is an internationally renowned conductor, educator and innovator, who has received global acclaim for his pioneering work with Choir of the Earth and homechoir. Closer to home, he directs Bristol Cabot Choir and has been involved many times with St George’s ‘Sing for Happiness’ projects.

John Talbot is an experienced choral accompanist based in Bristol.  He accompanies the Bristol Cabot Choir and Bristol G&S Society. John is also the Organist and Director of Music in the United Parish of Abbots Leigh with Leigh Woods.

Please note, this event is aimed at singers who have pre-existing ability to read sheet music, as the sessions will involve reading from a score.
