Beethoven+: 3

Part of Beethoven + Artists in our Midst

This event has passed.

BCP continue their BEETHOVEN+ journey with two of Beethoven’s most genial works.

The beautiful Pastoral Symphony charts a journey to the countryside, from the awakening of happy feelings, the gentle scene by the brook, a country dance, a violent thunderstorm and finally the shepherd’s song of thanksgiving. The concert ends with the 8th Symphony, full of jokes, false endings and an all-round feeling of fun and wellbeing. In between comes another pastoral piece, George Owen’s Worcestershire Rhapsody – which takes as its starting point local folk tunes and a hint from Worcestershire’s own favourite son, Elgar.

Conductor Tom Gauterin
Leader Anneka Sutcliffe
