Bristol New Music

Part of Just Announced

This event has passed.

claire rousay: ‘a little death’ (ensemble performance)
+ Lucy Railton: ‘Blue Veil’
+ Harry Górski-Brown & Wojciech Rusin & Phaedra Ensemble: ‘Drift’

A prolific multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer, claire rousay gracefully crafts boundary-less music and brings a singular reflexivity, unflinching honesty and adroit humour to the performance space. At this show the LA-based artist will perform work from acclaimed recent album a little death with a bespoke ensemble of Bristol players.

Musician and composer Lucy Railton’s Blue Veil invites listeners into the realm of precision-tuned states of resonance: made manifest through Railton’s careful traversal of her cello’s most subtle acoustic characteristics, opening a space for immediate encounters of mind and sound.

Drift is a collaboration between Scottish composer and bagpiper Harry Górski-Brown and Polish audiovisual artist and instrument designer Wojciech Rusin, born of a shared interest in speculative relationships between traditional and contemporary drone music. They’ll be joined on stage by the Phaedra Ensemble.

BNM returns in late April for five nights and days of rolling concerts, performances, audiovisual works and installations in exhibition spaces, venues, concert halls and unusual locations around the city, traversing the outer realms of contemporary music, sound and visual arts.
