The ensemble’s name, an Italian word meaning “understanding” or “meeting of minds”, reflects the collaborative ethos at the heart of their work. Their programmes place folk and early music repertoire side by side, bringing together European and Armenian traditions.
Today’s programme traces the many faces of love and longing, from faith and homeland to the ache of romantic longing. Spanning Monteverdi madrigals, Armenian folk songs, French Baroque airs de cour, and the songs of Charles Aznavour, it draws unexpected connections across centuries and cultures.
