Praised by Menahem Pressler for his “uniquely beautiful sound and special sonority“, German pianist Julius Asal is quickly establishing himself as one of the most promising performers of his generation. In 2023, Asal signed with Deutsche Grammophon and his recordings and performances have been garnering plenty of praise from critics and audiences alike.
This is the second of three BBC New Generation Artist lunchtime concerts this season, and will be recorded for BBC Radio 3. The scheme helps to support young musicians on the threshold of an international career to reach the next stage of their development.
“He will surely be one of the figures of the 21st century to be reckoned with.“ CODALARIO
“The secret and subtle alliances of Julius Asal.“ LE MONDE
