Astatine Trio

Part of Lunchtime Concerts CAVATINA

This event has passed.

The Astatine Trio, formed at the Royal College of Music in 2021, are a young but remarkably seasoned triumvirate of musicians taking the piano trio format in new directions.

Riya Hamie Cello
Maja Horvat Violin

Programme

Haydn Piano Trio in E flat Hob XV:29
Brahms Piano Trio No 2 in C, Op 87

Mentored by the legendary Alfred Brendel on his invitation, the trio won First Prize at the 2022 Senior Intercollegiate Piano Trio Competition as the youngest entrants, with an average age of 18. They went on to win the First Prize and Luigi Boccherini Prize at the International Virtuoso & Belcanto Chamber Competition in Italy in July 2022 and were joint first prize winners at the Birmingham International Piano Chamber Music Competition in November 2022. Most recently, they have been selected as Britten Pears Young Artists for the 2023/24 season. The trio perform regularly at prestigious venues across the UK and abroad.

We’re delighted to partner with the CAVATINA Chamber Music Trust to introduce young people aged 8-25 to the live chamber music experience. A limited number of tickets for specially selected events is available when an event is part of our ‘CAVATINA’ series. For more details, visit www.cavatina.net
