Smetana Scherzo from the Triumph Symphony
Dvorak Serenade for Strings
Beethoven Violin Concerto

If you’ve yet to experience the thrill of hearing the big sound of one of the UK’s finest symphony orchestras at St George’s, this is a chance to put that right. Wales’ acclaimed national orchestra comes to St George’s with a programme crowned by Beethoven’s mighty Violin Concerto, and adorned further by two exciting young talents, still both in their twenties. Czech conductor Jiri Rozen’s success at the Salzburg and Donatella Flick conducting competitions has led to a string of engagements with orchestras such as the Czech Philharmonic and BBC Philharmonic. Ukrainian violinist Aleksey Semenenko, praised in The Strad for ‘an unparalleled level of refined musicianship and stage presence’, has recently joined the prestigious BBC New Generation Artist programme.

Please note: We are delighted to announce that this performance will be recorded by BBC Radio 3. Due to this, any latecomers will be admitted during the first suitable break, and no drinks will be permitted in the auditorium.
