In the wake of his eagerly awaited debut
recital disc for Warner, Martin James Bartlett
presents a programme closely linked to that
eponymously titled release, ‘Love and Death’.
Ranging from the epic and ecstatic – such
as Liszt’s Wagner transcription – to the
tragically poignant, this hugely entertaining
and far-reaching programme will showcase
a brilliant young pianist who was described
in the Daily Telegraph as ‘fabulously
flamboyant’ after his popular 2014 BBC Young
Musician win.

‘It is fascinating for me to see how composers find inspiration from their fellow artists, past and present, to find the means of expressing the human experience through art. And no two things could be more fundamental to the human condition as that of love and death.’
